Alok’s performance at Tomorrowland Brasil 2024 named ‘Best Electronic Music Show in the World’ at the EDMAs

Friday, March 28, 2025 – This Friday, Brazilian superstar DJ & producer Alok received the ‘Best Performance’ award at the Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs) in Miami. Alok’s Mainstage performance at Tomorrowland Brasil 2024 was voted the best electronic music show of 2024, with his set recognized as one of the most powerful and highly rated by the audience. Recognized as the most important dance music award in the United States, the Electronic Dance Music Awards have been celebrating professionals in the industry since 2022, allowing the public to vote in the listed categories.

Alok’s show at Tomorrowland Brasil 2024 featured a world premiere. For the first time ever at a Tomorrowland event, an extraordinary display of drones took flight during the intro, lighting up the sky over the festival area of Parque Maeda and forming words like ‘Brasil, love, live, and unite’, and drawing the map of Brazil and the planet Earth, symbolizing unity and connection – values at the heart of the Tomorrowland experience. This unique spectacle, co-created in partnership between Tomorrowland and Alok, was synchronized with stunning fireworks, lights, and lasers, lasting six and a half minutes and requiring a month of preparation. The breathtaking moment left a lasting impression on all festivalgoers, marking a milestone not only for Tomorrowland Brasil, but also for Alok’s musical journey. A magical moment as people all united under one sky, one beat, and one love.

Alok: “The most important point about doing the drone shows with Tomorrowland, because we did it in co-creation, was that it was also a statement for the South American crowd. To see how Tomorrowland does something that’s different from what they do in Belgium. It’s unique and it’s being done in Brazil for the first time. It means that Tomorrowland is there to stay and also that they really see value. They put in the validation and they respect us. It felt really like Tomorrowland is now embraced by the Brazilians and we also felt embraced by them.”

​Alok made his Tomorrowland debut at Tomorrowland Brasil in 2015 and has become a part of the Tomorrowland family since, playing at several editions. The Brazilian DJ & producer has been an incredible ambassador of Brazilian culture and music, as well as for Tomorrowland Brasil. Tomorrowland’s ‘We Are Tomorrow’ 2023 documentary featuring Alok won a Webby Award, named the Best Video – Events & Livestream in the 28^th Annual Webby Awards Internet Celebration. Every first Friday of the month, Alok also hosts his own monthly residency ‘Alok Infinite Experience’ on Tomorrowland’s official radio station One World Radio.

First revealed at Tomorrowland’s special 20-year anniversary edition in Belgium in 2024, the spectacular stage will now make its home at the festival grounds of Parque Maeda, set against the backdrop of Brazil’s enchanting natural beauty. With over 150 of the world’s best artists performing across 6 fabulous stages, festivalgoers from around the world will gather in the lush and green scenery of Parque Maeda, Itu, for three unforgettable days in October – offering the ultimate escape from the city to dive into a magical reality, where music unites and dreams become reality.
