Thursday, October 10, 2024 - The Tomorrowland Foundation has opened the doors of its 3rd Music & Arts School in Itu, the hometown of Tomorrowland Brasil. In collaboration with the Municipality of Itu and Instituto Tecendo Infâncias, this project represents a significant step in the Foundation’s global mission to empower children and young people through the power of music, dance, and the arts. Renowned DJs Amber Broos, Carola, MANDY and Zerb joined the opening, inspiring local youngsters.

Third Tomorrowland Foundation Music & Arts School opens in Brazil
The Tomorrowland Foundation has teamed up with Tecendo Infâncias Institute and the Municipality of Itu, to create a new Music and Arts School for children and youngsters in Itu, Sāo Paulo. Mayor improvements to the main building have been made to build an engaging and creative learning environment for over 4,000 children, offering opportunities for self-expression through music and the arts. In addition to specialized music and arts facilities, the school now features a modern playground and sports court. Building upon the success of the established Music and Arts schools in Nepal and India, this project reaffirms the commitment to give children worldwide the opportunity to attend music & art classes and unlock their talents.

As a longstanding tradition, the Tomorrowland Foundation invited famous artists to celebrate the opening of its brand-new Music and Arts school in Itu. Following Alan Walker's inspiring visit to the Music and Arts School in India a few days ago, renowned DJs Amber Broos, Carola, MANDY and Zerb joined the opening, inspiring local youngsters.

Amber Broos:My dad has always been a DJ, and when I was about 12, he started a small DJ school. It was more like a series of workshops, mainly for kids. I was so excited to learn that I jumped right in, and it gave me so much love and passion for music. From the moment I started, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue seriously. Music became a way for me to express my creativity and gave me a focus, which I believe has helped in many other aspects of my life as well.”

Carola: “Music transformed my life. I came from a family with no financial resources, and I participated in some social projects in my childhood that were very similar to this one, back in Porto Alegre. This kept me away from the streets, away from crime and things that could have led me down a completely different path than the life I live today. And I believe that the importance of music, art, and culture was, in fact, to change my reality. Maybe if I hadn't had this when I was younger, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to travel the world, doing what I do and playing at Tomorrowland.”

MANDY: “I think it’s great for kids to have the chance to follow their passion, especially in music, and become whatever they want to be in the music scene. In Belgium, we have a lot of schools, so we’re used to these kinds of opportunities. But here, it’s still something new, and now kids have the chance to do what they really want. It’s so important, and I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they’re playing music and enjoying themselves.”

Zerb: “I am a musician and my mother is a preschool teacher. So, I think that education and music have always been very important pillars in my life, and I truly believe that music can transform people's lives because contact with art makes you know not only yourself but also the world. And through that, you end up transforming not only your life but the lives of everyone around you.”
